What is the game about?

The 2011-2012 National Hunt Fantasy Horse Racing competition is a unique "real life" racing competition where you own and manage a stable of 15 horses with the object of scoring as many points as possible over the season which, for competition purposes will be 12/11/11 - 14/04/2012 inclusive.

You create your stable from a list of top UK horses with a budget of £50 million and when your horses are running in "real life" you need to ensure that they are "on track" in the competition.

If they win, place or simply race then your stable scores points to add to your tally.

If your horses are under-performing or injured in real life then you have the option to trade them for another horse which could earn you more points.

How are the prizes decided?

In the event of a tie for either a monthly or the overall prize, the stable that has accumulated the most prize money will be deemed the winner.

Should there still be a tie for first place then the stable that was entered into the competition first will be deemed the winner.

Only one prize can be awarded per player so if a player has more than one stable in prize ranking positions then their highest scoring stable will be the one which is deemed as the prize winner.

Each Trainer of the Month winner is the trainer whose stable has amassed the most points in a particular month.

Any one trainer is only entitled to win one monthly prize.

In the event that the same trainer is in a position to win a second monthly prize, the prize will be awarded to the highest placed trainer in that month who hasn't previously won a monthly prize.

In the event that two or more stables have the same points, then the stable that cost the lowest amount to assemble will be deemed the winner.

In the event none of the tie breakers produces a result, names will be placed into a hat and the winner will be chosen at random.

Why do you need my contact details?

Your e-mail address is required to send your Subscription Key so it needs to be a valid e-mail address otherwise you will not be able to complete your subscription.

Your e-mail address will also be used to send regular updates to inform you when any of your horses are running so you can then log into the competition and ensure they are on the track.

If your horse is running in "real life" but is not on the track in the competition you will not gain any points it may earn on that day.

Your home address is required so that any prizes can be sent to you by post.

These details will only be used in conjunction with the Fantasy Horse Racing competition and also any relevant notifications from Fantasy Racing.

They will not be passed on to any third parties without your expressed permission and will not be visible to other players in the competition.

How do I create my stables?

Once you are logged in you will be prompted to create your stables by clicking on the link provided and you will be taken to the "Stable Creation" page.

You will be prompted to name your stable and once confirmed this cannot be changed.

Your stable name must be unique and no offensive words should be used.

Your stable will, initially, be empty and you are offered the list of horses to choose from.

The list is broken down into blocks of horses sorted by name - A-E, F-J, K-O etc but you have the option of viewing the full A-Z list sorted by name or horse value.

To add a horse to your stable, click on the horse name in the list then click on "Add".

You can add horses individually or add a block of horses at once by either using the Shift + cursor keys or using Ctrl + click on each selected horse.

If you exceed your budget of £50 million you will be prompted and will need to make the appropriate changes to your stable by clicking on any of the horses then click on "Remove" and adding new horses within your budget.

You will be given a running total of horses added to your stable and total price as you add each horse.

Once your 15 horses have been selected and are within your budget, you will be prompted to "Create" your stable.

If you have any further stables to create you will be prompted again to create your stable.

You do not need to create all (or any) of your stables as soon as you log in but will be prompted each time you log in if you have any un-created stables.

How do I put my horses "On Track"?

You will receive regular updates of any of your horses that are running in "real life" so that you can put them on the track, ready to run in the competition.

Log into the competition and click on "View Your Stable" in the menu and you are presented with the "Stable View" showing your stable of 15 horses, below which are their stats of price, runs to date, wins and prize money.

Any horses running that day will be highlighted in green.

Select the horse or horses you want to put on the track and click on "Put on track »".

A maximum of ten horses can be on the track at any one time so if you have more than ten running any any day you will need to remove horses from the track after they have run and replace them with horses running later that day.

Horses need to be on the track at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start of the race and to remain on the track at for at least 20 minutes after the scheduled start of the race to earn any points and prize money won.

Horses which are running and are on the track will have their names displayed in red text whilst the race is still being run, so do not remove such a horse from the track or it will be deemed to not have run for your stable.

If your horse is not on the track when it runs in "real life" it won't score the points.

How do "Horse Trades" work?

A maximum of 4 Horse Trades are allowed each week so that horses which are under-performing or injured can be transferred out of your stable and replaced with alternatives.

These can also be used where a horse is not running for some time in real life and substituted for one which is.

Any horses traded must stay within your budget of £50 million and your stable cannot contain more or less than 15 horses at any time.

To trade horses, click on the link in the menu and you are taken to the Horse Trade page showing your stable of 15 horses and the list of horses to the right, broken down into blocks - A-E, F-J, K-O etc.

You have the option of viewing the full A-Z list sorted by name or horse value.

Select the horse you want to transfer out of your stable by clicking on the horse name and select the horse you want to transfer in from the list of horse then click on "Transfer".

You will receive a warning if you select a horse from one list only or if the transfer exceeds your budget of £50 million.

For example... If you have a balance of £300,000 in your account and wish to transfer out a horse with a value of £3.6 million, you can transfer in any horse with a value up to £3.9 million.

To transfer a horse in with a higher value than this will require at least two trades with the initial trade being to transfer a horse in with a lower value than the one transferred out.

How do the leagues work?

All stables are entered into the overall league and the top five stables in this league will be the overall winners of the main prizes.

Each stable is also automatically entered into a mini league of 10 stables and if you have purchased more than one stable, each of your stables will be entered into a different league.

If you have opted to donate part of your entry fee to a charity then your stable will also be entered into that charity league.

Additional prizes will be awarded for the top two stables in each league at the end of the competition.
